Fossil intros new Wear OS smartwatches with heart rate tracking and GPS

Fossil has been a regular in the Wear OS market, releasing several Android-powered smartwatches over the years. That continued today as Fossil introduced two new Wear OS watches.

The Fossil Q Venture HR and Fossil Q Explorist HR are now official. As you might’ve guessed by the “HR” in their names, both watches include heart rate tracking as a major feature. This includes manual and automatic heart rate tracking across workouts with Google Fit, heart rate graphs, and special dials that have heart rate integrated into the designs.

These new Fossil smartwatches also include NFC for use with Google Pay and untethered GPS functionality. With GPS, you can track your workouts with Google Fit and third-party apps without bringing your phone along.

Both of Fossil’s new watches offer stainless steel cases — the Q Venture HR is 40mm and the Q Explorist HR is 45mm — Snapdragon 2100 processors, ambient light sensors, altimeters, microphones, and magnetic charging. They’re swimproof as well and offer interchangeable bracelets, with the Q Venture HR taking 18mm bands and the Q Explorist HR using 22mm straps. Battery life for both models is listed as being more than 24 hours.

Pricing for these smartwatches ranges between $255 and $275. Fossil is now taking pre-orders for several models on its website, so if you’re interested, mosey on over there and see what’s available.
