Alcatel 7 now available from MetroPCS with dual rear cameras and 4000mAh battery

Alcatel and MetroPCS are teaming up to launch a new big screen Android phone.

The Alcatel 7 features a 6-inch 2160×1080 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Alcatel says that it work to slim the bezels on the device to make it easier to hold. Up above the display is an 8MP front-facing camera with face unlock functionality.

Around back, the Alcatel 7 boasts a dual rear camera setup with 12MP and 2MP sensors. These cameras let you add a blurry background effect to your photos, and you can also do things like re-focus and use Alcatel’s new social camera mode.

Inside the Alcatel 7 is a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6737T processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot. Alcatel has also given its new phone a 4000mAh battery that the company says will get you 10.5 hours of non-stop video streaming on a single charge.

Alcatel’s own CloserTV app is included with the Alcatel 7, giving you access to streaming services and cable TV in one spot. With it, you can log in to services, search for titles, and more. Another notable feature of the Alcatel 7 is the ability to assign each of your fingerprints to quickly launch your favorite apps using the phone’s rear fingerprint reader.

The Alcatel 7 is now available from MetroPCS. Pricing is set at $179.99, but customers who port their number to MetroPCS and sign up for an unlimited LTE plan can get the device for free. Customers who add a new line or are eligible for an upgrade can get the Alcatel 7 for $129.
