Nokia 5.1 Plus leaked images show off dual rear cameras

Earlier this year, Nokia and HMD Global announced a new series of Nokia-branded Android smartphones, including the Nokia 5.1.

Since then, the handset has passed through the FCC ahead of a launch in the United States. But it looks like Nokia and HMD are already working on a variant of the Nokia 5.1 that offers some distinct changes when compared to the original model, including a slightly larger display, minimized bezels, and a notch.

The leaked images of what’s being called the Nokia 5.1 Plus were initially shared by Tiger Mobiles. They show a handset that boasts a 5.7-inch display, a notch up top, and a chin on the bottom. Meanwhile, it looks like the Nokia 5.1 Plus will adopt a USB Type-C port for charging, moving away from the Micro USB port that’s present on the standard Nokia 5.1.

The new variant will keep the 3.5mm headphone jack as well as the fingerprint sensor on the back. But a key change is the adoption of a pair of rear cameras, rather than the single 16MP camera that’s found on the Nokia 5.1.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any information regarding the specifications of the upcoming Nokia 5.1 Plus, so we will have to wait a bit longer for that info. There’s no word on a release date or pricing, either, but we do know it will come in at least two colors when it arrives at a later date.
