Google rumored to launch a new Pixelbook with smaller bezels this year

Last October, Google unveiled an expensive, high-end Pixelbook that’s meant to show off the power of Chrome OS but not skimp on specifications.

According to serial leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks), Google is planning on launching a follow-up to that hybrid device, with a second-generation Pixelbook scheduled to be unveiled during the company’s “fall hardware event” which should take place in October of this year.

Details are light at this point, but Blass does say that the second-generation Pixelbook will have smaller bezels. It’s not a secret that the first Pixelbook had some sizable bezels, but that’s not necessarily as big of a deal as it is on smartphones. Then again, any device that offers more screen real estate will probably get a thumbs up from a lot of folks.

The tweet doesn’t include any additional information, so we will have to wait and see what the rumor mill has for us in the weeks ahead.

This is a follow-up tweet to what Blass revealed earlier this year, hinting that Google will be unveiling a lot of hardware at this year’s event. That includes the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, new Pixel Buds wireless headphones, and even a Google Pixel smartwatch.
