Android Auto updated with satellite view for Google Maps

Android Auto‘s Google Maps support is fantastic, but until now, you were limited to the basic map view. Of course this is the best view, as it’s easy on the eyes and nicely outlines roads and paths. Using anything else isn’t really all that important.

However, there are absolutely times where you need satellite view to find the place you’re looking for. Whether it’s buildings, parking lots, or strange geographical features, satellite view really comes in handy.

Starting today, you can now switch to satellite view when using Google Maps through an Android Auto head unit. It will consume more data, but it’s great to have that option. If you have Android Auto in your car, give it a shot!
