Nokia 3.1 goes on sale in the U.S. from Best Buy and Amazon on July 2

Before the end of May, Nokia and HMD Global made a series of new smartphones officially official, including the Nokia 3.1.

A couple of weeks later, the handset went up for pre-order at Amazon, with the online retailer signaling that the handset would go on sale in early July. Turns out that is indeed the case, as HMD and Nokia have confirmed this week that the Nokia 3.1 will go on sale in the United States on Monday, July 2. It will be available from Amazon and Best Buy and it will retail for $159.

For that price you get a smartphone with a 5.2-inch HD+ display, MediaTek MT6750 processor under the hood, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. It has support for a microSD card, a 13MP camera on the back, an 8MP front-facing camera, and a 2990mAh battery. It is an Android One handset, so it will receive Android OS updates for two years and it should receive three years of monthly security updates.

At $159, the Nokia 3.1 could be a great backup handset, or even a solid daily driver for someone who doesn’t want to fork over a lot of cash for a new handset.

Do you think you will pick up the Nokia 3.1 after it launches on July 2?
