Chrome for Android will now automatically download articles for offline reading while on Wi-Fi

Intermittent internet connections can lead to some frustrating browsing experiences, especially if you’re trying to read from different sources in one sitting.

Google wants to make that a bit easier with Chrome for Android. Over on the Google Blog, the company has unveiled a brand new feature for those in India, Brazil, Nigeria, Indonesia, and over 100 additional countries. The new feature works like this: While you are browsing the web on a free, unmetered Wi-Fi connection, Chrome will automatically download relevant articles in the background, which you can read at a later date when you’re offline.

The relevant articles will be those that are most popular based on your location. And if you’re signed into your Google account in Chrome, then articles that get downloaded in the background will be geared towards your personal interests, based on your browsing history.

The new feature is available now, as long as you’ve got the latest version of Chrome installed.
