HTC U12+ leak reveals minimal bezels, four cameras, and Snapdragon 845

The last time we heard about the upcoming HTC U12, the rumor was that the handset would feature a matte white finish. Before that, a spec list leak hinted at what we already expected: a high-end handset with top-tier specs.

Now we have the HTC U12+ getting its time in the limelight thanks to a new report from VentureBeat. It states that the U12+ is codenamed Imagine and that this may be the U12-branded smartphone we get this year. In other words, we may not see a “standard” U12.

As for what the HTC U12+ has to offer, this report indicates it will boast a 6-inch WQHD+, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The battery will measure in at 3420mAh, and the U12+ will run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Meanwhile, there will be two cameras on the front, both of which will be 8MP. On the back, there will be one 16MP camera and one 12MP shooter. The U12+ will also have a fingerprint reader on the back, and Edge Sense technology.

It’s unclear how much the HTC U12+ will cost, but HTC is reportedly aiming to launch their newest flagship smartphone sometime in May, so we might not have long to wait before HTC makes the handset officially official.

Based on the image and the rumored specifications, what do you think of the HTC U12+?
