Samsung Galaxy S9 leak reveals specs and features ahead of launch

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are going to be announced on February 25, just ahead of the start of this year’s Mobile World Congress. As everyone probably guessed, though, most of the phone’s details have leaked out ahead of the official announcement.

This time around, WinFuture.de has the massive leak for the rest of the world to peruse. The report reveals all of the major features of the Galaxy S9 and S9+.

First, there is the Galaxy S9. The report confirms plenty: A 5.8-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ display which will have a resolution of 1440×2960 and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. In the United States, the Galaxy S9 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and international variants will be outfitted with Samsung’s Exynos 9810. The Galaxy S9 will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, a battery that measures in at 3000mAh, Bluetooth 5.0, wireless charging support, a USB Type-C port, an iris scanner, a fingerprint reader, and stereo speakers.

There will be a single camera on the back of the S9 which will be a 12MP shooter with an aperture that can be changed between f/1.5 and f/2.4. The front-facing camera will be an 8-megapixel shooter, with an aperture of f/1.7.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S9+ will have a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor in the U.S., and an Exynos 9810 in international variants. It will offer 64GB of built-in storage and 6GB of RAM. The battery will measure in at 3500mAh, and it will offer all of the biometric security features and wireless connection options as the Galaxy S9.

On the back, there will be a pair of 12MP cameras, one of which will have the interchangeable aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4. The second 12MP lens will have a set aperture of f/2.4. The front-facing camera will be the aforementioned 8MP shooter on the Galaxy S9.

Both devices will be IP68-rated for water and dust resistance and will be running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. They will be available in Midnight Black, Purple Purple, Coral Blue, and Titanium Gray. There is no word on color availability per region, nor is there any word on pricing just yet, either.

In addition to the above report, serial leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) has taken to Twitter to reveal the color options again, giving clear-as-day looks at the upcoming flagship phones. Here are those tweets:
