Droid MAXX 2 gets surprising update to Android 7.0 Nougat
The Motorola Droid MAXX 2 was released 27 months ago, so we’re surprised to see the device get a big software update. It has been stuck on Marshmallow for ages, but now it’s getting a triumphant update to Android 7.0 Nougat.
Yes, it’s been 17 months since the official release of Nougat, but we guess that it’s better late than never. It’s no Oreo, but it still brings the security patch level up to December 2017. Nonetheless, it’s a bit strange that Verizon is even supporting this old device after all this time of neglect. If anyone is still using this device, it’s time to pull the update and check out the new features we’ve been using for over a year!
