OnePlus temporarily disabling credit card payments in online store

It was just yesterday that OnePlus announced that it was investigating reports of unauthorized credit and debit card purchases for some of its customers, all linked to the smartphone manufacturer’s online storefront.

At the time, OnePlus said it was investigating each report individually and that it was working around the clock to figure out what was going on. It confirmed that it was not due to Magneto, a bug related to another eCommerce platform, and seemed confident that it was a minor but serious incident.

Today OnePlus updated its ongoing forum post on the matter and announced that it has temporarily disabled credit card payments in the online store. If you still want to make a purchase, you can use PayPal. OnePlus says that it is “exploring alternative secure payment options with our service providers.” There is no confirmed timeframe for when another payment option on the site might return.

OnePlus seems to be working on the issue, but it’s certainly worrisome for OnePlus customers.
