DISH TV getting Google Assistant integration in first half of 2018

Google Assistant is being supported by more and more companies, and soon you’ll be able to control your cable set top box with your voice. DISH has announced that it is adding Google Assistant integration for hands free control of your TV.

You’ll be able to control playback, change channels, play content by name, search movies and TV shows by actor or genre, and more with your Google Home or your smartphone (though pulling out your phone isn’t any easier than grabbing the remote).

This functionality will be available in both English and Spanish and is coming sometime in the first half of this year, though no firm date was given. We look forward to this feature’s release!
