Twitter now supports tweetstorms with new ‘Threads’ feature
Tweetstorms have become a common occurrence on Twitter these days, even with the boost in overall character allowance for an individual post.
So, to better facilitate the need for longer conversations, Twitter has officially announced a new threading feature built into the stock Twitter app. The idea is to bridge one tweet to the next without having to constantly reply to yourself, which should make it easier to formulate a stream of statements.
We’re introducing an easier way to Tweet a thread!
Users will see a plus sign in the composer while they are drafting their tweet which will let them start threading a conversation together. This will also mean you’ll be able to publish all of your tweets at the same time. There is even a new “Add another tweet” button, so if you decide your tweet storm needs one more post, you can add it after the original burst has already been published.
And for threads, there is a new “Show this thread” option you’ll see on a tweet that’s connected to a series of others, making it easy to identify and read a tweet storm.
The new feature is rolling out now, so if you use the stock Twitter experience, you should start to see it pop in. What do you think of the new feature?
