Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ designs reportedly revealed in leaked images

Samsung’s Galaxy S flagships are often some of the most hotly anticipated smartphone releases each year, and so it’s no surprise that a lot of people are looking forward to next year’s release of the Galaxy S9. The good news for those people is that the rumor mill is working to make that wait a bit easier.

Several renders have leaked out that claim to show the design of Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. These renders are not official Samsung images, but are instead based on factory CADs that’ve been shared with @OnLeaks, 91mobiles, and MySmartPrice.

The general design of the Galaxy S9 looks to be similar to the Galaxy S8. The Infinity Display is back, complete with slim bezels and curved edges, and Samsung may once again include a dedicated Bixby button and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The one big change from the S8 to the S9 happens on the back of the device. According to these leaks, Samsung will move the fingerprint reader from the right of the rear camera where it was on the S8 to below it on the S9. Many folks have complained about the placement of the Galaxy S8′s fingerprint reader, saying it’s too hard to reach and that it’s easily confused for the rear camera, so this would be a welcome change.

As with this year’s flagships, the Galaxy S9+ looks to be largely similar to the Galaxy S9 in terms of design. Rather than have a single rear camera, though, today’s leak suggests that the Galaxy S9+ will have a dual rear camera setup.

While nothing is official until Samsung says it is, the details included in these leaked renders do line up with a previous report about the S9 and S9+. It’s also rumored that while the S9 will come equipped with 4GB of RAM, the S9+ will get 6GB.

What do you think of these renders? Will you be happy if Samsung reuses the Galaxy S8 design for the Galaxy S9 but tweaks the placement of the fingerprint reader?
