Google Home Mini now official for $49

Today the Google Home Mini was made official. It’s available in Coral, Chalk, and Charcoal colors, and as the name suggests, it’s a smaller variant of the standard Google Home smart speaker. It has a custom-built fabric wrapped over the top of the smart speaker, making it so that it is durable but also lets the small lights on the top of the device shine through for visual feedback while using the built-in Google Assistant.

The announcement itself was straightforward, focusing on the size of the device, but keeping the features that made their debut in the original Google Home last year. Owners will still be able to get their schedule, control smart home products, getting news, and more.

It will cost $49 in the United States and it will go on sale October 19 from a variety of major retailers. Google Home Mini is also launching in all seven of the original Google Home launch countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the US. Pre-orders for the Google Home Mini begin today.

For $49, the Google Home Mini is certainly going to find its way into a lot of homes. Do you plan on picking one up?
