Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro said to feature swim tracking, offline Spotify playback

Samsung made the Gear Fit2 officially official in June of last year, and now it looks like the company is planning to add to its lineup here soon.

VentureBeat has leaked images of the upcoming Gear Fit2 Pro along with a few key details for the upcoming device. According to the report, Samsung plans to announce the Gear Fit2 Pro alongside the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23. One of its primary new features will be a more secure clasp, which should help keep the wearable strapped to the owner’s wrist much better than past models.

The report indicates that the Gear Fit2 Pro will feature 5 ATM water resistance and that it’ll be able to link up with the Speedo On app. For swimmers who want to track their sessions, this will be good news. And for those who like to listen to music, the Gear Fit2 Pro will reportedly also feature support for offline music playback from Spotify.

Finally, the upcoming wearable will run Samsung’s proprietary Tizen operating system.

There’s no word on when the Gear Fit2 Pro will go on sale nor how much it will cost. The Gear Fit2 cost $179, and while Samsung is throwing in improvements and new features, it could price the new wearable somewhere in the same ballpark.

Based on the rumored features and design, what do you think of the GearFit 2 Pro?
