Cheaper Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may launch with less RAM

It was just yesterday that Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 8, its big phablet that just happens to also be a ridiculously expensive device. But it turns out that there might be a cheaper option on the way, albeit one that cuts a bit from the features list.

As noted by CNET, a recent filing with the Chinese telecom agency TENAA may have revealed a Galaxy Note 8 variant that has only 4GB of RAM on board. That would be a decrease from the 6GB of RAM that’s included with the standard Galaxy Note 8.

According to MySmartPrice, this new variant would be slightly cheaper than the standard Galaxy Note 8, up to $110 off the MSRP. The best part of the news might be that while there would be less RAM in this model, every other specification would stay the same.

As of right now there’s no word on whether or not this cheaper variant of the Galaxy Note 8 will ever see the light of day, and if it does, where it will be available.

Would you opt for the cheaper Note 8 if you had the option?
