Android O rumored for August 21st release
After going through four developer previews, Android O may be just days away from an official release.
Google is planning to launch Android O the week of August 21st. That’s according to Evan Blass, who adds that the launch is “most likely” going to begin on August 21st itself.
Android O will be available to the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, and Google Pixel C. Once it’s released, other Android device makers will take the update and customize it with their own special features and overlays before releasing it to their own devices.
There are several new features in Android O. One is picture in picture, which will let you watch a video in a small window on your smartphone while you perform other tasks. There are also some tweaks to notifications, like background colors and the ability to snooze notifications for later. Other Android O features include an Autofill API, battery life improvements, and improved Bluetooth audio.
Have you been using the Android O Developer Preview? If so, how has it been treating you?
