Virgin Mobile is no longer selling Android phones

Options are generally a great thing for consumers, and Virgin Mobile would probably agree — as long as you like iPhones.

Virgin Mobile has officially announced that it will be going “exclusively iPhone” from this point forward, which means the MVNO will no longer be offering any Android (or any other platform) phones.Virgin Mobile sees it as a major refresh of its network as a whole, complete with a single “Inner Circle” unlimited plan for customers.

To help incentivize potential customers to sign up, Virgin Mobile is hosting a set of promotions to help convince folks to switch over. It starts with their new Inner Circle unlimited plan being offered for only $1 for an entire year. You’ll need to buy an iPhone to get the new offer, and after that year the price will increase to only $50 per month for unlimited text, talk, and 4G LTE data.

The $1 Inner Circle plan deal will only be offered until July 31, 2017, and it’s available to new customers that port their number over from another carrier as well as existing Virgin Mobile customers that buy an iPhone.

It’s worth noting that Virgin Mobile is offering mobile-optimized data for streaming video (capped at 480p+ resolution), listening to music (capped at 500kbps), and cloud gaming (2Mbps). If you go over 23GB of data usage in a month, Virgin Mobile may also deprioritize your network connection for the remainder of the month.

As for the other perks, Virgin Mobile is also offering a discount to access Virgin Wines and a free night’s stay at a Virgin Hotel if you pay for two nights. Finally, Virgin Mobile customers can get a “companion ticket” for a round-trip visit to the United Kingdom. You’ll just need to buy your first round-trip ticket and then only pay taxes and fees for the second round-trip ticket.

As for the iPhones being offered, Virgin Mobile has the iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, and the iPhone 7 Plus, each of which are available in different color and storage options.
