You will soon be able to pre-order your Oculus Rift headset on January 6th

Good news for those of you wanting to grab an Oculus Rift headset the moment they become available. Pre-orders will be going live this week, or more specifically, in a couple of days. Snagging one of these headsets will also net you a few freebies that will come with it including two games: Eve: Valkyrie and Lucky's Tale.

The pre-orders will be available on a global scale as well, so no location-specific pre-orders or anything like that will be happening. Oculus has a timer counting down till when the pre-orders will go live on January 6th, 2016, which looks to be 11am EST or 8am PST, depending on where you live in North America. We can also expect an immediate crashing of their website just before, or exactly on that time.

As for pricing, that has yet to be announced. There's all kinds of rumors and guesses happening online as to what the price will be for the Oculus Rift. Our guess at a price? Personally I say it'll be $299 in order to keep in line with other headsets that require a device like the Samsung Gear VR, which run for $100. Charging too much will take away from the draw the Oculus Rift has with being a self-contained unit. Remember, this is for pre-orders and your headset won't be immediately shipping out the moment you order it. Expect it to arrive a month or so later.
