The Deer God, which is being published by Crescent Moon Games, had a successful KickStarter Campaign back in 2014. 2,801 people backed the game so it could be created. It has an unusual premise, perfectly painted pixels, and a main character that roams the earth on four legs. Sound intriguing? If so, get ready for the release of The Deer God on Android this week, September 3rd.

There seems to be quite a bit of mystery surrounding this game. Crescent Moon Games defines the game in this way: "The Deer God is a breathtaking 3D pixel art game that will challenge your religion and your platforming skills." That is quite a bold statement. How this game ultimately affects you, depends I guess, on how you view religion... and possibly the level of your gaming ability, as it relates to platforming. Either way, the game is definitely interesting.

There seems to be a resurgence with pixel-based games in the last few years. Some games are able to successfully implement pixel-based worlds, while others not so much. The Deer God has a haunting beauty all its own. The artwork is extremely well done and quite varied. If you appreciated the artwork in the extremely popular Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, then you will love the graphics put forth in The Deer God.

We have started playing the game and the story is quite rich and astounding in many ways. We don't want to spoil anything for you, but we can say that your journey will be one that offers more questions than answers. If you take a look at the trailer, you will be able to tell a little bit about what you will encounter on your journey as a four-legged creature.

The game is already available on Steam, and just became available on XBox One. If you are an XBox Gold member, I believe you are able to download the game for free right now. We are not sure of the pricing of the game for now. The game is currently on sale if you want to play it on your PC through Steam. The sale price is $10.49 I don't think that will be the price of the mobile version, but once we have more information, we will pass it on to you.

'The Deer God  is a game about survival, reincarnation, and karma; all set in a breathtaking and unique 3D pixelized world." We can definitely agree that the game looks and plays great so far. Now... about that challenging of your religion, we will have to wait and see. Take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think in the comments. The Deer God is most definitely a unique entry into the gaming world, when there are plenty of sequels and copycats running rampant in mobile gaming. It is nice to see something different. We will have a review after we have played the game thoroughly, to let you know what we think of Crescent Moon's latest game. Until then, be ready to download the game tomorrow, or late tonight, depending on where you live!
