Albion Online's Summer Alpha begins next week, gets a new trailer to celebrate

Albion Online is a MMORPG a lot of people are looking forward to play. It was originally announced that the PC MMORPG would be coming to multiple platforms including Android and iOS last year and since then the game developers have been hard at work making sure everything runs smoothly. This game actually had a brief closed alpha testing period a little while ago (earlier this year), making this Summer Alpha the second time the game has opened up to the public.

Albion Online is a open world sandbox MMORPG where players can do pretty much whatever they want to. You'll be able to beat up other players in PvP, which can be done solo or teaming up with other players to take on other teams. The economy inside Albion is also player run, so when you're not fighting you can still be contributing to your guild, or yourself if you stay solo, by opening up a farm and maintaining crops and animals, or become a blacksmith and create weapon and armor, or gather/hunt material other players need. You'll be able to sell your goods across Albion in person or via the marketplaces in towns.

Albion also features the ability to build your own house, furnishing it the way you want to, and you will actually receive different bonuses depending on what you end up furnishing your house with. Expanding on that, players can essentially build their own town if they really want to get into it, with over 50 buildings currently available and includes military, industrial and residential structures.

Speaking of customization, Albion Online happens to be one of those 'no classes' type of MMORPGs, which means you can create whatever type of character you want. This is done using the Destiny Board as well as the equipment you use with your character. Rounding everything out is all the PvE content as well, whether you go solo or team up with other people (inside or outside your guild) to complete quests, kill bosses, and all that good stuff. Essentially you can do whatever you want.

Since the previous alpha, a lot has been added to Albion Online such as Hellgates and Missions being added. However, just like the previous alpha period, this one will only be accessible for players who are either a Legendary or Epic Founder, which requires purchasing the corresponding Founder's Pack. These are meant to help support the game and its development while giving early access player plenty of goodies which they can keep even when the game officially launches.

Once the Summer Alpha starts, you can expect us to be going hands-on with Albion Online. In the meantime, you can check out the new trailer in the video below.
