The Samsung Galaxy 6 version of the Gear VR headset has pre-orders going live tomorrow

Published on Thursday, 23 April 2015 08:31

Samsung has announced that pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy 6 variant of their Gear VR headset will finally be going live starting tomorrow morning. This version of the Gear VR headset can be used with both the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge, either one will work with this particular headset.

Pro-orders will be going live on the Best Buy or Samsung's website for this headset starting tomorrow morning. However, if you would rather go into a store and do your pre-order, that can be done on May 15th instead. Up until now, the only Gear VR headset that was available for purchase would only work with the Galaxy Note 4.

Since this version works with both the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge, there is a much bigger user base that could possibly be purchasing this headset. In other words, if you plan to pre-order one, you might want to make sure you do it as close to the time preo-orders go live as possible to ensure you actually get one. As for how much this headset will cost, Samsung hasn't announced a price tag for it, although it shouldn't stray too far from the original headset's price of $199.

We will post an update tomorrow when those pre-orders go live.
