T-Mobile LG G3 can now be updated to Lollipop using a PC tool
One day after the LG G2 got an Android 5.0 update, the G2’s bigger and younger sibling is getting its own taste of Lollipop.
The T-Mobile version of the LG G3 can now be updated to Android 5.0, but not through the traditional OTA method. No, if you want this update now, you’ll need to use the LG Mobile Support Tool, which can be downloaded from LG’s support site. In order to install it, you’ll need a PC running Windows 2000 or later. You can then connect your G3 to your PC and get the update ball rolling.
T-Mobile hasn’t made any announcements about when this Android 5.0 update for its G3 will begin rolling out over the air; T-Mo’s site only says that the update is in “T-Mobile Testing.” Now that it’s available through LG’s update tool, though, it shouldn’t be too much longer before the OTA is here too. Stay tuned.
