Nexon Korea's Fantasy War Tactics open beta begins today.

Today is the day of betas starting. For some reason multiple companies have decided to start closed beta testing today, all at the same time. This is pretty awesome if you enjoy digging around betas, finding and reporting bugs, or just like being in betas so you can learn about a game before it launches in order to have an edge against everyone else. Regardless of the reasoning, betas are fun and one of the games starting their beta today is Fantasy War Tactics from Nexon Korea.
Last week we reported, on the same day, multiple games starting closed beta testing today and this is one of those games, except this is an open beta. Fantasy War Tactics is a tactical strategy RPG which means combat is turn-based. Depending on how you want to play this game, you can either jump into the large single-player campaign, or dive into the multiplayer aspects of it which includes PvP combat.
Fantasy War Tactics Features:
- An exciting scenario full of Anime nostalgia. Make your way through the adventure as an ambitious wizard bent on conquering the world.
- Build up hundreds of diverse strategies based on the adversary system, attack direction and geographical aspects.
- Unique map structures, stories from different regions and dungeons, challenges, epic showdowns (PvP), laboratories, expeditions and more.
- Build up your team with mighty heroes
In total there are 50 customizable heroes to collect and use. Like we mentioned in our previous coverage, Nexon Korea mentions a few times that all 50 of these characters can be unlocked and become playable by playing the game. This basically hints at what some of the IAPs are going to be since if you don't want to just play through the game to get all the characters, you will probably be able to purchase some. We will confirm this though once our copy of the game finishes downloading.
Regardless as to whether or not you are playing in single-player or multiplayer, players will need to take advantage of unit movement, terrain, ranges, and hero skills in order to succeed in combat. Team build is also pretty strategic.
We will post our initial impressions on Fantasy War Tactics in the near future after we get some hands-on time with this open beta. If you want to join in on this beta, you can sign-up over on the official Fantasy War Tactics website and download the game from Google Play. Signing up is optional though, beta participation can be done by just downloading the game. The sign-ups are for future rewards.
