Android 5.0 Lollipop on 1.6 percent of devices

Android 5.0 Lollipop has finally made its way onto the platform versions chart, amassing a mere 1.6 percent of all current devices. The February numbers — really for the seven days ending Feb. 2; we'll get our next set of numbers in another month — mark the first time Lollipop has made it onto the chart. The code was released to the Android Open Source Project in early December.

The Jelly Bean version of Android — which comprises Android 4.1.x to Android 4.3 — still comprises 44.5 percent of total installations, down just one-half of one percentage point. Android 4.4 KitKat came in third at 39.7 percent of total installs.
