Half Life 2: Episode One now available for the SHIELD tablet
Valve’s partnership has finally yielded another game for NVIDIA hardware owners to enjoy. Previously, Half-Life 2 was released on the NVIDIA SHIELD, the not-quite-famous handheld Android gaming device. The fact that Half-Life 2 went mobile and was ported to Android was exciting, but the device exclusivity put a damper on our moods.
This time around, Half-Life 2: Episode One has been released for the NVIDIA SHIELD tablet. Episode One is quite a bit shorter than the original game, but is still fun and engrossing. It’s exclusive to the SHIELD tablet and will need a controller to be playable, so you’ll really have to shell out on the hardware to play this on the go. You’ll also need a massive 3GB of free space, a tough demand for 16GB tablet owners.
Luckily, if you own a SHIELD tablet LTE, you can get this game for free instead of paying $7.99. LTE model owners also get the original Half-Life 2 and Portal for free as part of the “Green Box Bundle,” which should add some value to the device. How many of you have a SHIELD tablet out there?
