Shadowrun Returns will be getting a sequel called Dragonfall next week

Harebrained Schemes has announced that they will be releasing a sequel to their Shadowrun Returns game next week called Shadowrun Dragonfall. Currently this sequel has been out for PC gamers for a few months now and the developers have announced that it will be released onto Android and iOS at the same time next week for mobile gamers to dig into.

For those of you not familiar with the Shadowrun world, this is basically a blending of fantasy and cyberpunk meshed together into an RPG. Originally Dragonfall was released as an expansion to Shadowrun but since it has been developed for digital gaming, it has become its own standalone release as a separate game but still set in the Shadowrun world of course.

If Dragonfall for mobile follows its PC counterpart in terms of content, we should expect 5 all-new missions, alternate endings, new music, a redesigned interface, team customization options, a revamped combat system, and more. Of course the redesigned UI will be different in order to fit mobile screens.

In terms of storyline, Dragonfall takes place 42 years after Shadowrun Returns happens (the year being 2054):

It’s 42 years later – 2054 – and the world has changed. Unchecked advances in technology have blurred the line between man and machine. Elves and trolls walk among us, ruthless corporations bleed the world dry, and Feuerschwinge’s reign of terror is just a distant memory. Germany is splintered – a stable anarchy known as the “Flux State” controls the city of Berlin. It’s a place where power is ephemeral, almost anything goes, and the right connections can be the difference between success and starvation. For you and your team of battle-scarred shadowrunners, there’s no better place to earn a quick payday

If you're a fan of the Shadowrun franchise, this will pretty much be a must-buy when it is released. Shadowrun Dragonfall is slated for release next Thursday December 4th, 2014. No word on pricing as of yet.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
