The next installment into the Galaxy on Fire franchise will finally be seeing the light of day globally as Fishlabs has announced that their MMO game Galaxy on Fire: Alliances will be launching worldwide later this month. This particular addition to the series isn't like the previous Galaxy on Fire titles though.

Updated: October 22nd, 2014 9:12am PST: Galaxy on Fire: Alliances has left its two week soft launch and is now available on Google Play worldwide. You can snag a copy through the link below.

Galaxy on Fire: Alliances is an MMORTS game (with cross-platform support) which is a big difference from any of the other titles in the franchise. This game is also being made using Fishlabs' own proprietary game engine called ABYSS 3 and it looks pretty solid visually from what we can tell.

Here is the storyline that will be in Galaxy on Fire: Alliances:

The events of Alliances™ take place in a remote and hitherto unexplored part of the universe, where valuable resources and ancient artifacts are expected to be found. In order to gain access of these riches, the most powerful factions of the galaxy, namely the Terrans, Vossk and Nivelians, order their best commanders to build an outpost on that out-of-the-way star cluster and claim dominion to that yet-to-be-acquired sphere.

Galaxy on Fire: Alliances Features:

• The first Mobile Strategy MMO in the Galaxy on Fire™ universe
• A vast star map with more than 200.000 individual planets
• Epic space battles with hundreds of players
• Easy-to-access alliance system with varying coop features
• Global leader boards for individual players as well as multinational alliances and Facebook friends
• Three different alien species known from the previous GOF games
• High-end 3D graphics and state-of-the-art special effects
• Mobile-optimized user interface and intuitive touch controls
• Full optimization for the differing resolution and specifications of the leading and most prominent tablets and smartphones on the Android market
• Localized into 14 languages: English, German, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Thai and Turkish

Since this is an RTS game, players will have to manage their economy, build various structures to accomplish and gain access to other features such as military units and different technology upgrades to research, wage war against your enemies and so on. However, since this is an MMO game, you will be facing off against other players in opposing factions. You can also create your own alliance (a.k.a guild) or join other currently existing ones other players have created.

Almost a year ago Fishlabs announced that this game would be delayed until the later part of 2014. It has been in closed beta for awhile now and has done a soft-launch in Canada, New Zealand and Australia. The rest of the Android world will see the game made available before the end of October 2014. Those of you interested in picking this up when it is released will be able to do so for free and yes, this game does have IAPs.

We will post an update when this game goes live on Google Play.
