Oppo N3 has a swivel camera like the N1, but this time it’s motorized

One year after the introduction of the Oppo N1, the folks at Oppo have taken the wraps off of their new flagship smartphone, the N3.

The Oppo N3 takes many features of its predecessor and attempts to improve on them. Perhaps the most notable upgrade is the 16-megapixel swivel camera, up from the 13-megapixel shooter found on the N1. The increased megapixel count isn’t the only difference between the two shooters, though, as the N3’s swivel camera is motorized this time around. It can rotate up to 206 degrees, and the swivel can be controlled by on-screen gestures, the O-Click remote or by touch.

Oppo has also thrown a fingerprint reader into the N3. It can be used for security and scrolling, the latter of which was a feature of the N1’s rear touch panel.

The Oppo N3 will launch in December with a price tag of $649. Overall the N3 looks like a nice follow-up to the N1, gaining an upgraded camera and a slightly smaller display, which is good news for the folks that felt that the N1’s 5.9-inch screen was too large.
