Google Makes One Minute Hangouts Calls Free Until 2015

nexus2cee_large_thumb

Google Hangouts is a convenient way of staying in touch with your family and friends. With this communicator app, you can send text messages and now even make phone calls. The latter function is not that popular, so Google is trying to advertise the service a little bit. As a result, users from 25 countries will now have a chance to talk for one minute without charge.

The offer lasts until the end of our current year. In other words, from now until the start of 2015, you will be able to make minute-long phone calls for free through Hangouts in the following countries:

  • Australia
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • China
  • Dominican Republic
  • France
  • Germany
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Peru
  • Poland
  • Russia
  • South Korea
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

If the call supports the one free minute offer, it will be shown on the screen. Before making a call, ensure that you have call credit available, otherwise the promo will not work for you. Remember that you have to pay for the call if it exceeds one minute–except in the USA and Canada, where most calls are free. So keep a look out from time to time to make sure you don’t have any funny charges or credit decreases..
