AT&T Droid Maxx variant passes through the FCC
Motorola’s Droid Maxx series of devices are well loved for their humongous batteries and well hated for their exclusivity. Thankfully, it looks like one of those is about to change. If some documents recently filed with the FCC pan out, it looks like AT&T could see a Maxx device of their very own.
According to the FCC filing, there exists a Motorola device under the FCC ID IHDT56PK2 bearing all the necessary bands an AT&T device would need that is physically and electronically “identical” to the Motorola IHDT56PK1, also known as the rumored upcoming Droid Turbo, or latest entry into the Verizon branded Maxx series of devices. Before now, rumors have circulated that Motorola has been working on a non-Verizon branded Maxx device to be sold under the name Moto Maxx. There is no way at this time anyone can confirm this new Motorola device, the IHDT56PK2, is the Moto Maxx, but it sure seems like it.
Not a whole lot else is known about the Droid Turbo and Moto Maxx right now, but they do exist and there’s a good chance we’ll see both devices released sometime before the holiday season kicks off. We’ll be watching for more.
