Android 5.0 will be made available to consumers on November 3
Wondering when you’ll be able to find out what a bugdroid-flavored lollipop tastes like? Us too. Thankfully, we now know that that date is just a couple of weeks away.
In a note sent to developers urging them to prep their apps for Android 5.0, Google has confirmed that Lollipop will launch on November 3. “Before Android 5.0 is availble to consumers on November 3,” Google writes, “we recommend that you test your apps and publish any needed updates to the Play Store.”
Android 5.0 will come preloaded on the HTC Nexus 9, which will also launch on November 3, so today’s Lollipop release date news doesn’t come as a huge shock. It does suggest that some existing Nexus devices could start getting Android 5.0 updates on or around November 3, though, which is exciting news for those of us that are sticking with our Nexus 7s or some other device.
Do you have a Nexus phone or tablet that’ll be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop?
