Mojang's TCG title Scrolls has been put on sale in preparation for its official release on all platforms and this includes Android tablets. For those of you not familiar with this game, Scrolls is Mojang's second full official game that they released in a working beta format since last year but was originally conceived back in 2011. Since then it has been in beta status for quite some time for PC gamers.

Now with the game's official release on the horizon, Mojang as reduced the price of Scrolls to just $5.00. Originally this game was priced at around $21.00 so this is a pretty substantial price reduction for the game. While part of this reduction was to mark the game's upcoming release, Mojang also knew that this price tag wouldn't go well for the mobile gaming industry.

Our current price of $21 isn’t feasible for tablets. As you probably already know, games are cheap on those things. Free-to-play would be an option, but we’re not keen on the way that. That form of monetisation can affect gameplay. - Scroll's Blog

For those of you curious about this game, there will be cross-platform gameplay available, so you will be going up against both tablet gamers and PC players. With this cross-platform gameplay being available, your collection of cards will also be accessible across all platforms.

If you paid the $21 for the Scrolls beta, you won't be left footing a big price tag while everyone else enjoys the $5 price of the official release. Those of you who paid the original price will receive a $20 Shard package deal for free once you log into your game after its release. No official release date has been announced but it must be pretty close.
