Motorola trademarks “Moto Maxx” name, gets us all excited

In the last few years, Verizon and Motorola have been best buds. They had a deal to make some pretty nice exclusive devices for the carrier under the DROID line, which was fairly popular (especially around the original DROID days). One of these devices was the Maxx variant, which stood out due to its huge battery in comparison to the others.

Everybody loves devices with huge batteries (the Huawei Ascend Mate2 comes to mind), so the fact that the DROID Maxx devices were always exclusively on Verizon was pretty disappointing. However, Motorola has recently trademarked the name “Moto Maxx” and we’re already hoping it’ll be used.

If Motorola releases a standard GSM device, like the Moto X, in a Maxx variant with a massive battery, we think it’ll sell pretty well. Advertising multi-day battery is a huge selling point for many, as people often top off their phones in the middle of the day at work. And with Motorola releasing some kickass products recently, a Maxx device would just be icing on the cake.

Would you pick up a Moto Maxx device, if it ever makes it to the market? Leave a comment!

Note: For the trademark source, head to the USPTO site and search TESS for “Moto Maxx.”
