Samsung could bring curved glass Note 4, Gear Glass to IFA 2014
IFA is always a big event for Samsung. It’s tradition to release a new Galaxy Note at the conference. And this year’s IFA might bring a few surprises from Sammy, if new leaks are to be believed. The latest report comes from The Korea Times and brings the rumor that Samsung could be releasing two Galaxy Note 4s this year. One would feature a flat OLED panel and the other would feature a curved OLED panel like the Galaxy Round.
Along with that, Samsung is said to be prepping several UHD OLED TVs, home appliances, and for the pièce de résistance, a competitor to Google Glass, rumored to be called Gear Glass. While it wasn’t mentioned, we also wouldn’t be surprised to see a new smartwatch running Android Wear. (The Galaxy Gear originally launched alongside the Galaxy Note 3). The quote from the unnamed Samsung executive can be found below:
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 4 phablet, UHD OLED TVs, a Google Glass rival, and home appliances at the upcoming IFA. The Note 4 will have two versions ― one with a curved OLED display for niche markets and the other a flat OLED display for mass marketing.AnonymousSamsung
It looks to be an exciting IFA for Samsung products. We’re curious as to whether Samsung would really sell a curved version of the Note 4 simply for niche markets. On the other hand, it does sound like Samsung and a QHD curved OLED display would most certainly be beautiful. On the wearable front, we’re not completely sure what to expect, but a Google Glass competitor would be of interest. We’re also itching to see what Samsung has up its sleeve for an Android Wear smartwatch. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see.
Which device would you be most excited about?
