Samsung announces 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab S tablets
At Samsung’s “Tab Into Color” event tonight, it announced two new tablets, the 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab S and the 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab S. Both tablets are part of Samsung’s new premium tablet line-up and feature some, well, premium specs. The two tablets share most of the same specs which include:
- 2560×1600 Super AMOLED display with 90% AdobeRGB color spectrum coverage
- Exynos 5 Octa or Snapdragon 800 processor
- 3GB RAM
- 16GB or 32GB storage expandable via microSD (up to 128GB)
- 8-megapixel rear camera, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera
- Android 4.4 KitKat
- Fingerprint scanner
- 6.6mm thickness
All in all, the Galaxy Tab S tablets are pretty well-specced. The 8.4-inch model carries a 4900mAh battery while the 10.5-inch model naturally sports a larger 7900mAh battery. An LTE model will also be offered but one of the features on the Galaxy Tab S is that the tablets can connect to your Samsung phone and phone calls and text messages can be carried on through the tablet. We’ve seen this before, but that doesn’t make it any less great.
Both tablets will be available for pre-order beginning at midnight. The 8.4-inch model will sell for $399 while the 10.5-inch model bumps it up to $499.
Are you planning to purchase one of these new tablets?
