Massive Lockdown Pro Update Brings Time PIN, Per-App Preferences, and More

Lockdown Pro

The need for mobile device data security is more real now than ever. But despite this, not everyone is a fan of locking his or her entire device. Luckily, there are several tools available that give you mild protection to casual snooping for those who’d rather lock individual apps instead of the entire OS. Back in March, we took a look at a great application by XDA Senior Member thotran7989 called Lockdown Pro. Now, the developer is back with a massive overhaul, adding plenty of new features to an already feature-packed app.

For those who don’t remember, Lockdown Pro is essentially a per-app locker that sets itself apart from the sea of similar solutions in a variety of ways. At the time of the previous article, some of Lockdown Pro’s most important features were its ability to simulate force closes when apps were blocked and to set predefined locations in which to automatically lock certain apps.

Now just three months later, the developer has added plenty of new features to the already impressive app. These include a new Time PIN feature, which when enabled sets your per-app PIN to the current time. In addition, you’re also able to set per-app preferences that allow you to disable auto-rotation and/or screen timeout in certain apps. Finally, the app also brings a new “Observer” mode, which allows you to gather data about your unauthorized user in the event that your phone was stolen.

To get started, simply head over to the application thread and download the latest version of Lockdown Pro.
