Jolla releasing “Jolla Launcher” to alpha testers, provides a feel for Sailfish OS

Jolla Sailfish OS is definitely an interesting operating system, and I must say, some of the features are quite nice. Of course, it’s not enough to leave Android for most of us. But we might be getting the best of both worlds eventually, as Jolla is planning to release a launcher based on the Sailfish OS experience.

Called the Jolla Launcher, this app will be released to alpha testers sometime next week. You can sign up to be an alpha tester, with more info in the source link below. They are looking for people with Nexus 4 or 5 devices, but any Android smartphone with Android 4.3 or up will work. Of course, you have to be willing to provide feedback and report issues, so this isn’t just for fun.

I’m actually very interested to try out the final product, as Sailfish OS really caught my eye. It’s great that the company is releasing a launcher for Android and it’s sure to bring some attention to the OS itself. If people like how the launcher works, they can get an entire device that works that way. Will you be giving it a try?
