Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 revealed in photo leak

Following a rumor from earlier this week that claimed that Samsung is prepping a pair of AMOLED-equipped Galaxy Tab S tablets, an image of one of the two slates has purportedly leaked out.

An image posted by SamMobile claims to show the 10.5-inch version of the Galaxy Tab S. The device looks fairly similar to the 10.1-inch Galaxy TabPRO model that launched earlier this year, complete with a physical home button and capacitive multitasking and back keys.

Things get a bit different once you turn this Galaxy Tab S over. Rather than the faux leather texture found on the TabPRO, this Tab S features a dotted design similar to the one found on the Galaxy S5. There are also two dots that are said to be connectors for a Samsung book cover.

The Galaxy Tab S’s tentpole feature is said to be its display, which is said to measure 10.5 inches in size, have a resolution of 2560×1440 and a screen that utilizes AMOLED technology, something that we haven’t seen included in a Samsung slate for quite a while. Other rumored specs include an octa-core Exynos processor, 3GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera.

While this Galaxy Tab S has a lot in common with its TabPRO siblings, the device’s AMOLED display makes it notable because Samsung has rarely used that screen tech in its tablets. There’s no word yet on how much this Galaxy Tab S might cost when it finally lands, but considering that the TabPRO 10.1 started out at $500, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw the Tab S priced similarly, if not a bit higher.
