LG G3 image leaks continue with close-up shots of gold model

Hot on the heels of LG’s official announcement of the isai FL, some new images of the company’s upcoming flagship G3 have leaked out.

The shots, shared by GSMArena, claim to show a gold version of the LG G3 lounging around in the wild. The device in these photos looks similar to the previous LG G3 leaks that’ve surfaced, complete with minimal bezels, a rounded set of rear buttons and a rear camera with a flash and mysterious black oval on its sides. Also, the gold color is reminiscent of the golden-hued G2 mini that debuted earlier this year.

Speaking of that mysterious black oval, today’s report claims to have information on exactly what purpose that sensor serves. The black oval is said to be a laser that helps the G3 to capture quality nighttime photos. Unfortunately, specific details on how this tech works aren’t yet available.

The G3’s front-facing shooter is also said to have some unique features of its own. Users will reportedly be able to capture selfies by clapping their hands, twisting a finger or speaking a voice command like “Cheese.”

The highlight feature of the LG G3 is expected to be its 5.5-inch 2560×1440 display, which is both high-res and has very thin bezels. Also rumored to be included with the G3 is a 13-megapixel rear camera, 3000mAh battery and a set of on-screen navigation buttons.

We’ll have to wait until May 27 before we know for sure if these LG G3 leaks are the real deal, but so far all the rumors seem to be lining up nicely. Should they be legit, LG will have itself quite a flagship smartphone on its hands, and I’m betting that it’ll get a lot of attention thanks to its high-res 2560×1440 screen.
