FXP Team Brings CyanogenMod 11 to the Sony Xperia L

Released in the middle of last year, the Xperia L is one of Sony’s more budget-friendly offerings. Due to its price and relatively capable specifications, it’s become quite the popular choice for those not looking for the latest and greatest flagship-level device. And because of its popularity, the Xperia L is no stranger to aftermarket development.

Now thanks to the FXP team, which has brought official CyanogenMod builds to various Sony devices, we have an incredibly highly functioning CM11 port for the device. The build comes courtesy of XDA Recognized Developer varun.chitre15 and the rest of the FXP team. Although the build is currently only in its second beta, it is nearly fully functional other than a few minor GPS issues. In other words, RIL, display, camera, audio, storage, sensors, and hardware acceleration are all working just fine. So those looking for a daily driver-capable build should give this a shot.

You can get started with CM11 for the Xperia L by visiting the original thread. And if you’re a developer looking to build off of their work, be sure to visit their Github pages for VendorDevice, and Kernel.

[Many thanks to Shivam Kuchhal for the heads up!]
