[APK] Google Play Games 1.6 Brings Unified Inbox and Improved Visual Polish

unnamed

Much like countless other hump days in recent memory, today was yet another Google Update Wednesday. We started off the day with two new applications (Docs and Sheets) that enabled a much richer content creation and viewing experience while on the go. We then saw a rather significant update to Google Search, which brought features like the new Parking Location card, a custom nicknames interface, and a much improved reminders interface. With these three major updates, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Google was done for the day. However, there’s one more update that almost slipped through the cracks, and that’s Google Play Games 1.6.07.

Perhaps most notably in today’s update Google Play Games 1.6 brings a new unified Inbox, which replaces version 1.5′s Matches section. In addition to incoming match requests, Inbox also houses all incoming gifts from your gaming buddies. This new Inbox option is housed within the slide-out hamburger menu, which itself received a few minor UI tweaks, including a new profile selection area similar to what is seen in other Google first party apps.

As stated on the Google Play Store:

1.6.07
- See requests and gifts from friends all in one place
- Visual polish, stability improvements, and bug fixes

The update will gradually make its way out to consumer devices via the Google Play Games listing in the Google Play Store. But those looking to get in on the update a bit early can do so, as we have mirrored the update on our Dev-Host account for your sideloading pleasure.
