Verizon rolling out minor update to HTC One (M8), includes extreme power savings mode

The HTC One (M8) was missing one thing here in the States, and that was extreme power savings mode. For whatever reason, the feature was taken out of the devices here but were promised to be put back in. Following in Sprint’s footsteps, Verizon is now rolling out an update for the HTC One with the feature in tow.

The update changelog does not mention the power savings mode, but it includes a bunch of other fixes. Things like data connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity and roaming notifications have been fixed, along with some new features in the Gallery like copy/paste and mute for video highlights. It’s a very small update, but a welcome one.

Now it’s time for the other models to get updated with the extreme power savings mode. It’s a really useful feature, so I can’t wait until it’s available on all models. If you have a Verizon HTC One (M8), head to Settings to check for updates and tell us if you’ve already downloaded it!
