Marvel has randomly announced that they have partnered up with GlitchSoft to develop and release a new game based on the upcoming movie Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past. In fact this new game will sport the same name as the upcoming movie.

Unlike the past Marvel games, this one will be a 2D side-scrolling title that focuses on the storyline found in the movie. However since this is an X-Men game, and the style of the game would fit this, we can expect that this will be a more of an action type of game, more true to the arcade style than previous titles.

For those of you who know your comic book history, the Days of Future Past was a story arc that came out in the Uncanny X-men series back around 1980. If this game, and movie for that matter, follows the comic book closely, then the story will follow the events surrounding Kitty Pryde who is a mutant in the present day but  is overtaken by the mind of her older self. Trippy right?

As for the game's release, Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past the game will be released onto Android in May which is the same month the movie will be hitting theaters. There is an official website for the game that will be releasing additional information the closer we get to launch.
