Download the first full Samsung Galaxy S5 firmware now

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is launching in just three weeks, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. The public reception for the device may not have been overwhelmingly positive, but it looks to be a solid device for 2014. And with a lot of cool and actually useful features, it appeals to me in many ways most phones do not. However, the device has its flaws and everyone knows that.

But if you can’t wait for the device to launch, you can now download an official firmware to play with. This firmware is from the Chinese SM-G9009D model, though other firmwares may be available soon. The build date is March 12th so it’s a very recent build. You can check out all the new apps and the features of the Galaxy S5, even if only in code. Plus developers can start porting these apps to older Galaxy devices, sharing all of these new features with everyone else.

If you’re interested in playing around with this brand new firmware, hit the source link to download it. It should be a fun time for those who know what to do with it. But for the rest of us, we’ll just have to wait for the launch date and the inevitable slew of reviews.
