Verizon approves the HTC One 4.4 update, OTA imminent

To date, the unlocked, developer and Sprint models of the HTC One have all received the Android 4.4 KitKat update. HTC has been hard at work updating all the different models, but at the moment, it’s down to the carriers to okay the updates through their long and often inefficient approval process. Luckily, we’ll have one more HTC One to add to the Android 4.4 list soon, as Verizon has approved the KitKat update.

Since the update has been approved, it’s only a matter of time before it starts rolling out officially. However, Verizon hasn’t announced any date for the update, so we don’t know when it’ll happen aside from the fact that it will be very soon. Stay tuned to find out when the update starts rolling out, we’ll be sure to inform you!

Now that HTC is close to having two of the four major carrier models updated to the latest and greatest version of Android, we’re waiting on Samsung to start pushing its Android 4.4 updates. The update is already out in a few European countries and we have KitKat leaks for the AT&T Galaxy S4 and Note 3, so we know they’re coming soon. Are you excited for KitKat or do you consider it a minor update? Leave a comment!
