AT&T Is Now Paying New And Existing Customers $100 To Add A New Line, Offer Valid Until March 31st

AT&T-Thumb

AT&T and T-Mobile have been at each other's throats for a while now, and while it should come as no surprise that there would be tension between two competitors trying to dominate the same field, things lately have become increasingly petty. Early this month, AT&T made an overt attempt to entice T-Mobile customers by offering up to $450 for them to switch carriers. T-Mobile CEO John Legere declared that AT&T was bribing customers and announced that his carrier would pay customers' early termination fees if they make the switch (from any competitor). Now AT&T will provide any new or existing customer that opens a line with a $100 credit on their bill.

This in and of itself may not sound like an offensive tactic, but a quote from AT&T 's press release reads:

“This $100 credit is a way we can reward our existing customers who add an additional line of service for their loyalty, and it’s an incentive for customers of Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and other wireless carriers to come to AT&T and enjoy the nation’s most reliable 4G LTE network.”

Classy or not, I'm perfectly fine with watching companies compete harder for our money, even if that means they resort to paying us outright. Go ahead AT&T, keep bribing us. This offer is available until the end of March.

Born and raised in the rural South, Bertel knows what it's like to live without 4G LTE - or 3G, for that matter. He now lives in the City of Bridges, adjusting to the presence of actual snow. His phone of choice is the HTC One.
