HTC One Mini (a.k.a. M4) Spotted In Leaked Photos Next To Its Bigger Brother
Making slightly smaller versions of your flagship smartphone with the "mini" designation seems to be all the rage these days. Just a week after Samsung confirmed its Galaxy S4 Mini, we're seeing compelling evidence that HTC's One Mini (possibly codenamed the M4 - the One was the M7) is close to completion. Estonian website Forte has a wide variety of leaked shots showing what's purported to be a One Mini in black, standing grille-to-grille with its larger sibling.
According to Forte, the One Mini uses a 4.3-inch screen with a 720p resolution, making "mini" an accurate description only in relative terms. Aesthetically, this phone apes the One right down to the trim and the screen bezel - if it wasn't for the larger phone right next to it, you'd have a hard time convincing us that it was a different model. Specifications include a dual-core processor of unknown clock speed, a generous 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, dual stereo front-facing speakers, and the same 4-"ultrapixel" camera found on the original One. It's a safe bet that the software on display is Android 4.2.
All of this lines up pretty well with previously leaked press shots of the M4/One Mini. (Note the slightly different speaker grille design on the press shots.) Estimates give the phone a release in July or August, with an unlocked price somewhere in the midrange. Naturally, you should consider nothing final until we hear it from the horse's mouth.
