Honor 7X now official with 5.93-inch display and dual rear cameras
While Google put a little bit of a pause on the rollout of new smartphones with dual rear camera setups, the Huawei sub-brand Honor is setting things back on track with its newest smartphone.
The Honor 7X is now official. It offers minimal bezels around a 5.93-inch display, which has a resolution of 2160×1080. The design is a unibody aluminum build, and Honor put a pair of cameras on the back: one is a 16-megapixel shooter and the other a 2-megapixel camera. There is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera on the other side. Under the hood, there is an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB built-in storage options.
Also included with the Honor 7X is a dual SIM card slot, a fingerprint sensor on the back, and a battery that measures in at 3340mAh. There is a microUSB charging port on the bottom. Software-wise, there is the proprietary EMUI 5.1 UI running atop Android 7.0 Nougat.
Honor has three color options: Gold, Black, and Aurora Blue. It is priced at ¥1,299 ($200) for the 32GB option, ¥1,699 ($250) for the 64GB model, and, finally, ¥1,999 ($305) for the 128GB variant. The Honor 7X launches in China on October 17, and there is no word as of right now if the handset will see a launch outside of that market at some point in the future.
